I currently have my hands full with a ton of work. I work as a lawyer; my specialty is in bankruptcy. I am currently helping a man file for Chapter 13. This man owns a used car dealership, but his once successful business has been going down the drain for the past few years. The man who I am aiding in filing for Chapter 13 is named Fred. Fred’s wife divorced him a few years ago and he began to drink a lot. His priorities shifted and he began missing work and blowing off meetings with both clients and providers. He also failed to pass emission tests on many of the vehicles that he was selling. All of these negative effects to his drinking added up over the years and now, he is so far in debt that he is on the verge of being forced to close his car dealership down for good. If this Chapter 13 plan works as intended and Fred gets his act together, then I believe that it is still possible to save Fred’s business. A lot of the responsibility of doing this is up to me, but a lot of it is also up to Fred.
